Brouhaha, oil on canvas, 40 x 60 inches, 2021. Detail and source images below. In 1980’s I saw a downtown NYC performance artist on stage who at one poing riffed on the word “brouhaha” until it became just laughter: “brouhahahaha” and I was struck. I like mixing danger and fun. For a black and white photograph I directed some little girls in a tea party scene. It inspired this frenzied fracas, a visualization of 2021.
